At what age did you stop using the pushchair? (Pregnant again)?
I'm 12 weeks pregnant, my son is 24 months. He's been walking for a year.
I'm wondering what I should do for a pram/pushchair for the newbaby.
What did you do?
He'l be 2 and a half when this one is born.
Thank you :)
me again hehe,
well leah was 17 months when i had jaiden so hey be in a double buggy.jaiden is now 1 and leah 2 and a half,i get a bugy board for her which we try and use or she just walks because she doesnt like the board much. if we move about on long trips out we take the double because she does get tired after a while.but she wont be having much choice when the subsequent one comes along, she will be 3 by then and definatly out the pushchair fully!!
harrys still young and will get tired out so psyche say keep him in the buggy if you be in motion out for ages but let him walk if you just step to the shops near by,start this now so he can get used to it x
Mine were both that age when their brothers were born, and at first I tried using one of those steps that attatch to the pram, but I found them difficult to use. It made pushing the pram tricky. So later I just bought a toddler seat for my pram for the 2yo, and that worked much easier.
My eldest was still joyous to sit in the toddler seat until he was nearly 3, whereas my middle son be wanting to get out and walk well since then. If Harry is happy to walk very soon, and not that keen on the push chair then perchance you wont have to worry when the new babe-in-arms is born.
my daughter will be 14 months when my other one is born so i will defo be getting a double buggie,in you situation i don't suggest there is any point wasting money getting a double one i would probably get one of them things you stick on the back of the pram for your other one to stand on,most kids are out of buggies by the age of 2-3 anyway my daughter be 2.1/2
It's going to be 2.5 years between my two and I don't plan on getting a double buggy. I am going to pass the baby in a sling when he/she is really small and keep the buggy for Dylan. Then when the child (and Dylan) is a bit older I will get a buggy board and Dylan will just own to ride on that. I'm sure there will be times when I curse it but I can't face the idea of struggling through doors next to a double buggy and I just don't have anywhere to keep one.any! Gotta be some advantages to this slightly bigger age gap which I know neither of us wanted.
my cousin stopped usin a pushchair when her daughter was bout 1 and a half. her baby be too active and never got tired! she had taken her to the uk at that age and approved against takin a pushchair and her daughter walked everywer! my son is 13months and nower near takin any steps so i know i ll be usin it for a while!
u can alwys use a sling for ur newborn but only if ur comfortable next to one!
or use a pushchair for the newborn and have ur son walk. there are also those harness. wer im from u dont rly see them cos its considered a bit like treatin a child as a dog so to find them is impossible! - shame! it'll come in handy wen tryin to handle a pushchair and a 2 1/2 yr old-fashioned!
My son will also be 2 1/2 when my baby is born.
I might try the baby in a sling initially and later I have a cheap second hand double buggy that I will use for them both. I'm going to buy a buggy board and try that too.
It will be too hard at times struggling around shops beside a double buggy!
When this one is born my son will be 2.5 years old.
We sold his old stroller and bought a double stroller.
The best kind is a sit n stand. It can be used so that the toddler sits, or stands doesn`t matter what he chooses! It's really neat! :)
my oldest just turned 2 when i had my second i used a double buggy to get me thorugh the winter afterwards got a buggy board he was 2 an half by after but my youngest son hasnt used a buggy or a board since befre he was 2 and half and has no probs walking everywhere we be in motion
Answers: My two youngest are just going on for 14 months apart- they are now 1 year (as of last week) and almost 26 months. My two year old is hugely active and very fast, and really dislikes the stroller. I own a double for running, and unless she sees that I'm in clothes to go running, she won't hold any of it. The person above me suggested a harness/ strap attachment; I know those are highly debatable, and I used to prudence :)
I don't anymore. It works- it lets the little one sit in a stroller, and the older hoof it with me, without me worrying that the smallest diversion will lead to her running stale and getting injured and lost. It's a good suggestion, and certainly worth a thought if your 2 year old is busy and like to walk (good chance he is, at 24 months!) I don't know about your son, but my daughter is purely now learning to speak, and when she NEEDS to speak (such as if she got lost) she simply can't (she have a speech disorder). So, dirty looks from those who aren't in my shoes simply don't amount to much, when I want my child to be both safe AND happy. I believe probably the sit and stands are a good thought as well- I haven't bought one because, besides the expense I already put out on the jogging stroller, it seems they could also run sour from that fairly quickily if they are of the type that is so inclined (but I haven't looked at one closely, so could easily be wrong).
FYI, I bought the stroller shortly after the birth of our youngest.
I didn't in truth USE it more than a few times for running or walking (it was mostly winter, though) until very recently, resembling during the last few weeks. Until then, baby be kept in a sling/ carrier (the ergo is good for elder and heavier babies) and on full day trips my husband and I would switch off with it (our elder girls have even carried the babies in the ergo- it's so easy), and our (now) two year old contained by and out of the single stroller. It is one of those things I wish I'd waited to buy, as I probably would have passed on it and save quite a bit of money.
go ask someone that cares !
