Mirena; how is it, problems, pregnancy, prices, anything PLEASE HELP!!?

I am 20yrs old and I have a 2yr old and a 3 week ripened. I have begged multiple doctors to tie my tubes. yes I know im young but Ive lone ever wanted a boy and a girl and thats what Ive got! Well the doctors wont tie my tubes so Im guessing IUD is the next step. Ive be looking at the Mirena. How is it, any problems, pregnant storys, prices, anything will help!
Mine be $600 and it gave me the worst pain I've ever had contained by my life (other than childbirth) I bled all of the time. I had really unpromising cysts on my ovaries.

My plus was I didn't get pregnant...lol. I had it removed too niggle full for me. My friends too.. one had ovarian cysts and my friend Ashley had to have surgery to hold hers taken out because it lodged in her uterus. Source(s): Had one :(
i got one when i first got it hurt but it go away a week later out of no where i was contained by allot of pain it would hurt me to walk i went to the dr he checked it and everything be ok so i kept it in and the pain went away i be bleeding for 3 months everyonce in awhile i start spotting it really just depends how your body reacts to it
Answers:    I had the ParaGard (copper) IUD for a few years, and had it removed due to weighty and long periods. I got the Mirena and it was great at first--after the initial bleeding (you'll spot on and stale for about 6 months, give or take), my periods stopped almost completely--I'd hold a few days of spotting (some days I didn't even spot enough to use a panty liner. No cramps, no heavy bleeding, etc.

HOWEVER, after having it in the region of a year, it made me extremely b*tchy/moody, broke my face out like a 15 year old boy, and cause me to gain 25 lb. over 6 months. When I had it removed (back in March), I told my doctor this, and he pooh poohed it, saying that it be all in my head. You know what--two weeks after it be removed, I lost 5 lb., my skin cleared up, and I felt human again. :)

As far as the cost, my doctor billed my insurance company $500, but they paid him $350 (the customary and usual rate, or whatever they phone up it). The only thing I paid be my normal office visit co-pay of $15.

While I have it, it definitely worked, but I think in my covering, the risks outweighed the benefit. I'd rather have 6 kids right now than to gain another Mirena put in. :)

I should also mention that I *did* get pregnant 2 weeks after having it out (I have it removed because we were TTC, so it was a nice surprise!) so that was accurate. I'm seriously considering having my tubes tied after this baby is born.

Some women hate it, some love it. Do a poke about for Mirena message board and read about some womens' experiences. Everyone's different.
