I'm curious as to how you two communicate if he doesn't speak fluent English and you don't speak French at all. Is there another adjectives language between the two of you?
And I find it hard to believe that there are no bilingual doctors surrounded by France. From my understanding, many people contained by Europe speak English as well as their own language.
Is it possible for you to shift back to UK for your checkups and birthing as it is so close. this way you do not have to be concerned more or less the language barrier. In the meantime, I hope that you are taking a French language course or working out a barter situation if you don't have money to learn the language. Another chance is to have your fiance speak to you only in french to lend a hand you learn. good luck.
Answers: Learn french! You own TONS of time (a little short of 8 months?) until you are due. So let's say 7 months. That is quite a bit of time to become skilled if you put yourself at it.
I suggest Rocket French, it's the fastest, easiest, and most affordable solution for you right now.
There are reviews for it on the website I provided (aswell as reviews for other alternatives, if Rocket French isn't your thing). Source(s): http://abclearnlanguage.com/french
