How is this possible? Genetics press..?

I had twins back in February and me and my husband both own green-blue eyes and one of the babies has blue eyes, the other is getting browny green eyes. I wasn't aware this was possible, both my parents have blue eyes and my mother contained by law has brown eyes, so is it possible they got this gene from their father?
Blue is a recessive gene. That is why the majority of the population have brown eyes. On top of this, some things skip a generation...How many of your parents or grandparents have brown eyes?

You pass the genes for both brown and blue eye colour. The reason you get brown, blue, or any other colour is because that is a short time ago the gene that was .I forget the word.this is gonna drive me nuts.EXPRESSED! That's it
Yes i think i.e. possible. I don't look anything like my mom or dad, everyone says i look just approaching my grandma. I have green eyes and my mom has brown and dad has blue. But my grandmother have green like me. I always heard that your kids can catch genetics from there grandparents. So i think it is Very possible! Con grads on your twins.
all babies have blue eyes to open with anyway, one of them maybe developing theyre life eye colour sooner that the other, no biggie, other will soon too :)
Babies' eye colour is not significantly drawn from genes. They also change all the time. I hold green eyes now, but when I was born I had blue, next they quickly changed to brown. When I was about 13 they begin to turn green. No one in my family has green eyes except me. It's nil you should be worrying about. ^-^
not sure but it could be the result of a recessive gene you both carry
Of course it is the babies have HALF of HIS GENES (your husband explicitly and it will be a recessive gene), it obviously comes from lineage, so that is why. Bear contained by mind that brown is a stronger trait colour wise as well.

Answers:    Eye colour is adjectives down to alleles of the eye colour gene, of which you and your husband both carry two. The dominant allele for eye colour is BROWN (B), and GREEN (g) and BLUE(b) are recessive.

To have blue eyes, you need bb or bg. If in that is at all a B present, then brown eyes will develop.

I don't think it is possible for them to own proper brown eyes, but a slight variation in the shading is natural. However, nearby are random genetic things that happen, and this could be one example of such a thing.

If your husband did take the Brown allele, then he would himself, have Brown eyes.

Yes. Brown is the most dominant eye color. It's possible for two people with blond fuzz and blue eyes to have a baby with brown pelt and brown eyes. Eye color can come from parents, grandparent, great grandparents, etc. There's no definite with eye color.
Yes, I hold light brown eyes and bf has dark brown. Our daughter have blue eyes like her grandma.
It can be a throw-back from your distant chronological. MOMs or DADs.
Pixie answered in. Well done mate.
Both my parents have brown eyes and menacing hair. Two of my sisters came out with red fuzz and blue eyes. My great grandparents are irish. If it is in your genes it is possible.
