Did you SIGN or know anyone that signed near their babe-in-arms?
I can hardly wait to start signing with my little one girl. I've heard so many awesome stories of peopole that have signed next to their children and I think it'll be a great experience. There are so many pros and I'm hoping she catches on at full tilt.
I'm just curious if any of you have done this and what your experience was? Thanks!
My sister signed with her son and she loved it. I'm thinking about signing near my daughter.
I signed next to my youngest starting at 2 years old. it was awesome since he had a speech glitch. He is fine now, but still signs sometimes. My favorite sign language DVDs are from the "signing time" series with Rachel Coleman. My undamaged family loved them! Source(s): personal experience

Answers: My daughter signed beside her baby and she taught me and my husband. We started signing while he was a moment ago a few weeks old. I really believe it made a difference in communications. At 6 mos I signed I love you and he signed it back!! Not sure he couched it exactly but it was so sweet. As he got older he be able to help us understand what he considered necessary. He would sign milk, sign more when he wanted more food at meal time, he would sign hungry, I love you, mama, daddy and so much more.
I would highly recommend to parents to get hold of the baby signing book while they are pregnant and start signing to your baby immediately while you discuss to him/her.
They learn so quickly.
Congratulations on your baby girl!! Start signing today :)
