I wanted to know can i get the 500 pound grant if i receive statutory sick rate from work? Im currently 24 weeks pregnant
I have been on sick pay most of my pregnancy as I hold a twist in my spine and suffer from constant back niggle and my job involved heavy lifting as I was a nursery assistant anyway I will be making a claim to Income-support when Iam 29 weeks pregnant as i wont be returning to work.
How long did it nick to get payments through income-support?
Did you get the 500 pound maternity give up when on sick pay?
Did you have any problems claiming Income-support when leaving work?

Answers: You will recieve the admit when you go on income support. You need to apply for the grant and it usually take about 3 weeks to come through. Are you a single parent? Is your partner unemployed? If you have a working partner next you cannot claim income support and therefore would not recieve the grant. Claiming income support sometimes takes several weeks to bring back your first payment so be prepared for this. You will need to go to a single parents assessment and afterwards they will grant you the income support if you qualify.

not sure but you will either get it after the bab is born or when on income supprt, i get one and my hubby wrks full time but on a low income and we got it because we are on higher rate of child tax credit which you will be onece you own had the baby. i sent mine off on the thursday and have it in my account by the following friday! good luck
