How long does it run to be protected by birth control?

I'm on previfem and i started it two weeks and three days ago. it says to have an alternate form of birth control for the first seven days, so that means its okay to own sex without a condom etc. after then right? i have have sex without one and i really am not trying to get pregnant.
Answers:    I work for a public health department and anytime you start a investigational birth control we reccommend you use a back-up method for atleast two weeks. However, no method is 100%. If you don't want to get pregnant, I suggest using a condom for longer. Don't forget the condom will also help protect against the nasty STDs.
