Why do some men insist on naming their first born son?
after them? I am not fond of my fiance's first name and I asked him to reconsider another name and it be not to happy with me. I feel similar to I have no say so and it is bothering me because this is my first born son as well. I'm 33 he's 42.
i dont know - its like they wanna make a carbon copy of themselves
i surmise maybe use his name as a middle name but plainly dont call him like Steve Junior etc... i dont like that at adjectives and i think all children deserve their own name and they shouldnt in recent times get a hand me down name from their father
relay him u will use his name as a middle name but you are not going to be naming your son after him.
It is a tradition in some families that the oldest son is named after the father. But clearly it's also an ego piece for the men to have a little "mini-me" running around. You'll have to compromise beside him. You can use his first name as a middle or you can use it as the first name but with a different middle signature (so the child is not junior) with the understanding that the child will be called by his middle moniker. Personally I don't think men have any business insisting a child be named after themselves unless they are married to the child's mother.
Answers: You guys requirement to compromise. Make your fiancees first name the middle name of your son. Then together brainstorm for your sons first name and receive sure it's one that you both agree on.
That way your fiancees name is still used but the first name is a identify that you like.
I would be pissed if I felt like I didn't own a choice in my sons name. You need to hold a choice.
I don't understand that custom either. I think it be good of you to stand up if you don't want to name your son after your fiance. Try to explain to him that your son will have to live near his name forever, and you will be his mother and father forever, so you both should be happy and proud of his name.
If he won't listen, build a compromise. You could make your fiancé's name your sons middle name, or something along those lines.
What do your ages own anything to do with it?
Just asking.
Why would you marry someone so feeble?
Never let the husband think they can do whatever they want if not they will tellyou what to do and control you for the rest of your life. Talk to your husband and tell him that it is important that both of you guys approaching the childs name. Maybe you and your husband can write down some names you guys like and next combine them.
Hope I helped! :)
Are you more fond of his middle name? Since he will be a Jr. you could purely call him by the middle name so there wont be any "confusion". Or, are at hand any nicknames for your husband's first name that you like better. I have a friend whose husband went by Chuck (real name Charles I'm sure), their baby be a Jr. and they call him Chase for the same reason.
Because next you don't need to remember lots of names you dementured assholes.
I don't know, my husband is one of them! He's also got a pretty awful name, Alfred! I finally give in and we agreed to call our first son by his middle name. Its pretty adjectives, one of the other boys in my son's preschool is called by his middle name too.
micheal, jordan, mike, or there name
I hate the conception of a junior, I believe in giving the child their own name. Use his name as the middle term.
Sometimes it is tradition to cross the first born son after the father. I have the same name as my father which is like name as the grandfathers and great grandfathers down the line.
Just because you do not like his first pet name doesn't mean you have to actually ring up the kid by that name.
Sometimes you just have to bend a short time on some things to keep a marriage going. Your husband must have a pious job/income and some other qualities or you wouldn't marry him. Maybe he had to settle for less or pocket a chance on you??
Would you prefer some sort of cute pansy name instead where the other kids measure him up at school over? Sometimes you have to give within on some things. If your husband's father and grandfather have the same names consequently continue the tradition. You can name the next kid after your father or mother and find even!
