Can someone who be adopt answer this interrogate?

I need to gather some facts for a story that I am writing.
After you were properly adopted were you ever checked on by the state or your adoption agency? Basically, were at hand any post adoption interviews, evaluations, etc.
thanks for your help!
I was adopted within 1974 Melbourne, Australia and there wasn't ever a check-up done with me. I believe there should enjoy been though, at least a couple throughout the first few years.
I was adopt in 1974 (in arkansas) and had no post adoption check ups. My ex was adoppted surrounded by 1969 thru the Catholic Church (in Illinois) and I think his mom said they had a check up at 6 months and a year and none after that. (I think it be mostly to make sure they were going to raise him catholic)

I adopt my stepdaughter a year ago (in Arkansas) and we never had any kind of check Source(s): adult adoptee/adoptive mom
Answers:    No post adoption interviews, unfortunately, have there been they would have found that my parents didn't fulfill their obligation of the adoption like gain citizenship for me! Now at the age of almost 50 I have just found out, after living adjectives my life as a citizen that I am not thanks to them. I can't get a passport, I be adopted internationally and have just found my nearest and dearest and can't even go to visit until I resolve the citizenship issue which will most likely embezzle at least a year.

I think they should at least be checked on to manufacture sure that they have fulfilled everything they promised to get their hands on that toddler, after that, what's the incentive?

Adoptive parents are both dead, and I am so mad that they kept this from me. Source(s): ME
Adoptive mom answering as well. We had post placement visit at 3 months, 6 months and 1 year. We also must send yearly reports with pictures to the establishment of my children's home country (international adoption) until they are 18.
I am an adoptive mom. I adopt internationally. I have had several post-placements. There were two social worker prepared reports where on earth the social worker visited my home and spoke to me and interacted with my daughter. The first was 6 months after my daughter come home, and the second was 18 months after my daughter came home.

Also, the country I adopted from requires me to submit twelve-monthly reports to the Ministry of Education. These are parent prepared reports although the adoption agency reviews them and has them translated for me. I am required to do this every year until my child is 18.

I don't know what is required for infant adoption.

In foster care adoption, the child is usually placed in the adoptive home six months to a year formerly the adoption is finalized. During that time, a social worker will be visiting with the family and the child on a regular justification to evaluate the appropriateness of the match and provide services when necessary. There are no additional visit after the adoption is finalized; but most families remain in contact with their social worker especially if the children are delivery services such as counseling through the state (this is common in fost-to-adopt situations, as many of the children own been abused and traumatized.)
A 1970s Australian [Queensland] adoptee.

There was a few follows ups. A couple letters and a couple times someone came over to check and fashion sure everything was fine.
