Do the recent nonsensical question and high-jacking of other people's profiles variety you wonder what's the...?

point of spending time on YA?

Is it still helpful to you? Do you think it's a waste of time? Or instead of seeing it as a instrument to educate or educate yourself, you are taking it for its entertainment value. A path to decompress after a stressful week.
I like answering serious questions and also see the humor within answering the pointless troll questions. I am usually online while at work during some downtime so both types of questions pass my time merely as well. I use it for educational purposes but am not upset when a troll comes along with a really funny take on something.

I like helping people out here on YA! when they enjoy a serious question. But I never take this forum too seriously. A lot of people are really sensitive in the region of how things are worded, about jokes, and other things. I don't really care that someone hijack my profile yesterday. In fact I think it's pretty funny. It's not the end of the world and it patently is not something to get upset about. This is only one little corner of the internet and I'm not gonna consent to what strangers say and do influence how I feel about things. Source(s): Surprisingly self actualized mature adoptee
i pretty much take YA as entertainment (more so on weekends when the trolls *really* come out to play).

I've bookish some on here but I also frequent another adoption forum where i've learned more (mostly due to not becoming outraged by personal attacks such as what happens on here)

eh...sometimes this place is favourable, but usually (for me) it's more for entertainment (and to collect thumbs down hehe jk).

ETA: Isabel -- the entertainment comes from the trolls who ask dumb (or baiting) questions and then seeing the answers (which tend to be pretty witty). I would never laugh or scoff at a sincere answer or request for information and I would hope others wouldn't as well.

P.S. I don't really like golf that much Source(s): 19 year old adoptee near an opinion
I have viewed as merely entertainment for relatively some time now. I can never really keep up with who is who and in a minute with all the recent cropping up of either trolls or multiple information users, I have noticed it getting much more hurtful on all sides contained by order to defend their point of view.
Nah. Happens everywhere on the net. Something I learnt from the early days is too whip things on here with a grain of salt. But that doesnt stop me from wearing my heart on my sleave.

I use it both for its entertainment efficacy and for educational purposes. Some of the answers that you see are quite comical and you have to titter. Then I do come on here to help others and to seek other ways of seeing and/or dealing with situations.

A brilliant guy who just happen to be an adoptee
certainly yes i have wondered that here lately. But there are still sincere questions mortal asked, so i'll hang around a bit longer in hopes of learning more, and try to humiliate the trolls.

I admit, sometimes i do go into a question for laughs. Guilty!
Varies by the day, I own to admit.

Sometimes I think, "Wow, there's a lot of adjectives information and valuable opinions here, and I just call for to have the patience to wade through the dreck to find it."

Other times I think, "This merely isn't worth bothering about. There are more intelligent forums I could read."

So I read Yahoo on the days I feel the first way, and avoid it when I get the impression the second way. ;-)
As an adoptee prior to coming here I didn't realize how much I didn't know about the subject. I have read several links and gotten a hold of a book or two (Thanks Ms. Rain) While I stand firm on some opinions, others hold changed for me. I think it's interesting to see all points of a sensitive subject that most of us are connected to in one form or another.

As far as the TROLLING go, makes me wonder what is going on in that persons vivacity to act so childish. I suppose they don't have anything better to do?
While I whip my answers seriously I never take this place too seriously. The anonymity just creates a situation where copious loons come out to play so to take it too seriously is only setting you (not you personally) up for stress.

I've been away for two weeks on business so I'll hold to go back and find out what childishness is going on but I'm sure what I see won't shock me at all.
Answers:    I think for the most part it's entertainment. But occasionally, I have a brain fart (usually by rereading my own Q&A) and I'll own an ah-ha moment. I think the most important thing I gain from YA is that my role in my sons life is not dictated by his mother's role. We are not opposites.
A bit of both. Sometimes it is very helpful. Sometimes it is a total waste. Sometimes it is entertaining. It of late depends. Every once in awhile there is a day similar to today, but in general the trolls get bored hurried and it gets back to normal.
Yes, it is most helpful to me...the easiest way to assemble YA points.
I've scholarly a lot here and for the most part enjoy it, but solitary in measured doses. I feel like several people are on here to educate and to learn, but consequently others are here to just harass people, which get old.
Entertainment? Really?!!
If people see this forum as a form of entertainment then they really have need of to get out of the house and see the world. That is just sad.

Get a actual hobby, people. I hear golf is nice.
Krazi,

It's a computer game to me.
What do you miserable by hi-jacking of peoples profiles? I'm confused.

I had decided to stop visiting the adoption sectrion of YA because I'm sick of adjectives the thumbs down everytime I speak positively of adoption. But I keep being sucked in by "One end question".
