Will she ever be capable of adopt him?
In 2005 my sister moved in with her husband who had a son from a previous relationship. When she moved contained by he had just gained custody of his son because of the mother's boyfriend (accusations of treat roughly both physically and sexually, I wasn't there so I don't know but I do believe my nephew) Anyways, at first his mother was visiting him during her supervised visit. In 2007 my sister, her husband and her step-son moved here to Missouri from Michigan, since then his mom has only come to visit him 1 time (boyfriend caused a huge amount of drama on this visit belittling my sister's husband to my nephew etc). She hasn't call on any holidays or birthdays or came to visit since. My sister's husband is now wanting my sister to adopt him and I wondered if she would enjoy any chance. I don't see his mom just giving him up legally but I didn't know if since she hasn't salaried child support (which is a whopping $19/month) in 2+ years, didn't protect her son from her boyfriend (who she is now back next to after putting him in jail 2 months ago for beating the crap out of her), hasn't showed any interest within being a mom to him if my sister would have any leg to stand on. He started calling my sister mom on his own, at first my sister was correcting him but it's become second character now and since he has no other mom it just seem normal.
What do you think? Will my sister ever get to be his court mommy?
Yes. As long as everything has be documented. The whole not visiting him in over 2 years help. Even if a parent doesn't want to give up their rights the court can order it. Age of the child depends a lot on that.
uh thats really up to the kid. she should def try since its visible he wants her as his mom. but she also needs to be prepared of what the biological mom might do if anything...he needs a honourable mom from what he has been through.she needs to ask for adjectives rights from the mom and go though some legal stuff
