Pg woman contained by prison wishes 2 tender me babe, would i be capable of adopt this tot if i'm not a relative of the woman?
I've fostered two babies for mothers within jail. The mother of the first one talked with the detain social worker, who got together power of attorney papers for me. With these, I was able to whip the baby right from birth, and the state foster care system did not get involved. The father of the tot was also in jail, so that wasn't a problem.
The second one, I didn't hold any papers. The grandmother went and got the baby, and passed it on to my daughter, who passed it on to me, adjectives with the mothers knowledge. The state did check in on that one, making sure grandma be responsible for the baby. She was within her rights to ask us to 'babysit' but ultimately, she be the one responsible.
