Why do abundantly of citizens want to adopt Japanese babies?
Oh God. I saw many questions on how to adopt Japanese kids. I think it is form of sad that they prefer to adopt from a stable country with not much orphans than those countries with millions of kids that stipulation home.
I have nothing against Japanese because I am half Japanese myself (and no, I'm not an orphan). But don't you focus it is ridiculous to adopt children from a country that doesn't have too many orphans?
Why instead of adopting from Ethiopia, Philippines, China, Korea, Ukraine, Russia, etc. they choose to adopt from Japan?
Don't you regard as it is absurd to have a preference close to that?
because ppl there are lone allowed to have 1 or 2 kids the rest they have have to be adoption
In 2008, U.S. citizens adopted approximately 36 children from Japan. In some cases, the adopting parents are of Japanese descent and actually speak Japanese. Most of the children are special requests and all live in orphanages prior to adoption.
Also, Japan had a residency requirement to adopt. At most minuscule one parent had to be a long term resident of Japan. I doubt that has changed.
While I get the drift your angst, is it better to be raised in an orphanage? Some are really well run and the kids are ably supported, but so many really suck.
I think it's absurd depending on your motive for adopting (you want to adopt to relief orphaned children, or you want to adopt because you can't have kids and just want a Japanese kid.) I personally would probably adopt from China or India If I required a kid (first motive.) Most people adopt from china though.
thats really woeful..
Because asians IN GENERAL, usually have more surrounded by adoption. NOT just Japanese. In fact, I've never heard of more those talking about Japanese babies as much as I've heard something like Korean babies.
I saw a cute little couple that had almost 4 of them the other day, why they pick them, maybe it's because they can't hold an asian kid on their own?
I mean, people joke going on for adopting kids like "i'm gonna grow up and adopt a little Korean baby" but honestly though, most in recent times end up getting a kid they feel in their heart belongs to them at first verbs.
If it's an asian baby, there's no way of stopping that.
But you are right,
I never knew adopt an asian kid made you better than anyone else.
Add: Really now? Asian countries in general dont enjoy kids, and many of their kids adopted? I came from one of those so call "overcrowded more than japan"countries you said should have been adopted. And hold lived in Vietnam, Korea, Japan, and the Philippines, i've probably done more research just by living in the energy than you do living in America just by being asian.
People still hold their opinion on what type of kid they want, of COURSE. That's a given.
What i find absurd is that you're saying a bunch of those are wrong for what we see.
When you're the one who points it out in the first place that it's wrong that people want to adopt a certain type of kd. You're japanese, culture adopt japanese babies. Get over it.
I can see why the Asian preference. I mean, look at them, they're merely so darn cute!

But I can't see why Japanese over any other type of Asian, especially when other countries have more orphans. You're right in that respect.
I think it is wrong for someone to make a racial/age/gender nouns when the children need homes, not someone picking them because of their looks.
Then there is the whole fiasco of IA...

Answers: As sick as it is, I'm afraid that many potential adoptive parents go into adoption like they would turn into adopting a puppy. Not all of them are like this, but lots are. I guess it's somewhat natural. They don't know the child they're wanting to adopt yet, so there's no attachment there. It's too desperate.
