ADOPTION IN THE USA WITH THE AGE OF 15/16?

whats going on there?
Well, I have got homework, to wish something about international adoptions.
I sought on google, different adoption agency's, but I have not found anything intelligent
Anyways, I wanna know,if it is possible, to agree to a child adopt with the age of 15/16 in the USA, from another country like for example Switzerland?
If yes,how do they do that?
They wish an agency in Switzerland[any countries in europe] or in the States.
How I said,I sought it on google, bing, agencys but I havnt found any information.

I think it'd be best to adopt a teenager in the US. There are tons person tossed between Foster Homes.
If you want to adopt from another country, how about becoming a host family for exchange students?

Are you asking if it's legal for a 15/16 year old to adopt a child? If so, the answer is no - even if it's an American adopting from another country. The age of consent is 18, anyone younger than that cannot lawfully enter into a contract. As adoptions require contracts, a person would have to be of age surrounded by order to adopt.
Also, adoption agencies look into your lifestyle, etc. and are concerned as to whether or not you can support a child. A 15/16 year old is not self supporting. So even if it was permissible, the agencies wouldn't allow it.
Answers: You wouldn't need to walk to another country to adopt a child of that age. There are tens of thousands of them right here in the US that you could adopt for free. People go abroad mostly when they want to adopt infants or amazingly young children. Teens are easily adoptable here, so there's no need to shift elsewhere.
