Guardianship generate adoption easier?
We are thinking of doing guardianship instead of adopting right away. My friend wants to adopt her baby to us contained by Feb. I live in Idaho we would like Permanent guardianship the woman is native American so we will and are complying near ICWA. The mothers other children are also guardian by others. She has had no problem with the tribe interfering contained by all three other children.. would this be alot easier in the long run and cheaper? What do I need to do to carry guardianship she has already gotten the papers from the tribe..Do I need a homestudy? Can I have the newborn than do the court? Any answers will help thanks so much
I have absolutely no idea nearly the practicalities of such a decision within your nouns - have you tried Google? Speaking as an adoptee, I think that (other than in positively extreme cases) guardianship provides a much better option for the child - which should be what is most important to you all, IMO.
its pretty easy to bring back guardianship but I would get it to court asap. Without the guardianship it would be difficult to get medical coverage or care for the tot. Plus the bio Mom could come take the baby anytime. Once you have be to court for guardianship then she would have to take you to court to catch the baby back. for guardianship you shouldn't need a home study unless your state or ICWA require it. But they will do a common backgound check, looking for abuse or neglect type issues. to adopt you would need one. I am a allowed guardian but have not with a Native american child. good luck and soak up.
Answers: Guardianship does not make adoption easier. It is more probable done with teenagers who have the option of choosing GA over Adoption. Transition is also another prospect for teens. Rarely is GA done for a baby---never around here. All processes are the same---classes and training, complete home study required, the whole ten yards. Source(s): Guardianship parent

You get the drift at anytime she can come & take back her child right?
Adoption severs the parents rights & makes you the clean parent.
