Question almost taking surrounded by a child?
My cousin has a baby, the baby wishes to get out of that house. What are the steps that my family and I need to do to pocket her. (We are not sure if we will adopt her, we just want to take her in for a few months or so.)
Do i involve to call Social Services or what?
if the baby is being abused or neglected next call the social services. i doubt there is any guarantee that u will gain any custody of the child it will be put into foster care if the child is person mistreated. but it all depends on the reason why u think the kid needs to get out of the house and whether it is just a perspicacity on ur part.
If she wants to place the child with you, you can acquire a guardianship agreement. Probably best to call a lawyer who specializes in nearest and dearest law. If she wants to keep the child but you perceive there is abuse or neglect you have need of to call the police or social services, report her, and let them know you would like to help yourself to the child in for a while.
Why does the baby stipulation to get out the house.
unless she is willing for this to happen lacking them. but think hard about that first. is that child contained by danger or being neglected. cause once the state is involved, they wont move out until they get what they want. usually the child. and that will turn everyones world upside down
Answers: If you think the child is in trouble, either from abuse, neglect, or because the residence is unsafe somehow, telephone social services. They will investiage and if they agree, remove the child from the home. In most cases, they will seek out a family member to exactness for the child. Some things to note...
- Some of my in-laws called CPS on another family accomplice under similar conditions. It started a significant family feud that be very damaging to that branch of the family (thankfully, we be not part of it). I agree that if you are genuinely concerned for the child's safety you should do something, but know that you and others involved will credible permanently damage your relationship with your cousin, and beside any who take their side.
- Don't assume that the CPS social worker will see things as you do. They may not remove the child from your cousin. Let them do their job, but remember that the desire of their job is to help your cousin keep her child.
- Don't assume CPS will place the child where on earth you want it placed. CPS isn't there to do your bidding. You can certainly tell them that you are prepared and able to foster the child, but that doesn't mean they have to do what you want.
- If the child is placed next to you, you will need to become certified as foster parents. You will also take on a lot of responsibility. As I said above, do what you requirement to to keep the child safe, but go into it knowing it will be like mad of work.
- If the child is placed with you, know that the goal if for the child to go pay for to your cousin. It is her child until the courts say otherwise.
call your local department of ancestral services and talk to someone about what you need to do to hang on to the baby safe
Why does the baby need to take out of the house - you need to be clearer on your question if you want a clear answer.
