Foster charge...?
when a child is involved in dcfs and one of the 2 children has heart defects do they try and hold the children with the family or find other homes
Answers: They always try to find biological relative placements first, for any child who comes into US foster attention to detail. If there is a relative who can pass a homestudy and has a verbs criminal record, that is always the first picking aside from reunification with the biological parents when that is possible. The child's special needs don't enter into it; it's common policy.
The only exception is if before the relatives are located the child has be in foster care for a long time (like, years) with impossible to tell apart foster family and is very attached.
If your cousins were one and only just taken into care, your home would take first priority over a stranger placement. I option the best for you and your family, but it is very unlikely the children would be taken to another home unless there's a homestudy or background check issue. Biological relatives are considered the best situation.
ETA: They will automatically do a perspective check. I'm sure they already have. The charge sounds minor and a long time ago, so I don't think it will be a huge issue. If the children are still in your home, the check didn't turn up any central red flags. If they thought there was a serious danger, the children would not hold been placed with you, so I don't see any reason to verbs.
ETA2: The paraphernalia charge was almost 20 years ago? I definitely wouldn't worry. :-)
I am a Foster/Adopted Parent for 12 years immediately ,,They do try to find a Family member to place a child/children with before they put them contained by Foster Care..
Most likely when they ask for your parents birthday and names they are running a back ground check on them,,
