Can you tender stern an adopt teen?
if the teen runs away is there a place for them to go?
these are serious questions so no rude responses please
Give "back"? No. You can't "undo" adoption (as I have sadly learned).
Give "up"? Certainly. You can surrender any child.
If they run off notify your local law enforcement immediately. If they return with into any criminal trouble while they are on the run---guess whose responsible? Yep, you. If they go to someone else's home and stays for even a day and they don't notify you or the police they are guilty of harboring a runaway and criminal charges may and will be brought against them---not a smart thing to do--harbor a runaway. They are indistinguishable in the eyes of the law as a blood child and you have alike responsibilities toward them. There are disrupted adoptions but must be handles correctly otherwise you can be charged with child abandonment.
You will need to hire an attorney.
Running is very dangerous for teens surrounded by many aspects. In some states running away is a criminal offense and is punishable by jail time immediately. In my state it's not a crime but surrounded by a neighboring state it is. Source(s): social work
Worked with runaways for 20 yrs
Answers: If you own adopted this teenager, then duplicate rules apply as to any other birth child. So, the child goes back into care and you for very soon have parental responsibilty for the child. So, you might have to ask for the child to be voluntary accomodated.
Speak to the local authority they have a duty to provide post adoption support.
Hope this help Source(s): Social worker.
i dont believe you can 'give an adopted teen back' [adoption is a legal process of formally admit an individual into a family] but, by the same token, steps COULD be taken to legally disown them.
there are other shelters for runaways - boys town, catholic charities, etc. i believe there is even a 800 telephone number for them to call to aid them locate one.
hope this helps.

They could be placed into foster care, but if that happens you'll still be the parent and you'll be expected to provide child support. If he/she runs away next there's almost nothing you can do but pray. There are places where teens can go. . . shelters and boys homes and such. There are even individuals who will take them in for a while and give them a place to stay. But you wouldn't enjoy any control over where they go or where they stay, sorrowfully.
You save them forever as your
own flesh and blood.
