Adopting a child contained by the state of California?

I was hoping someone could help fill me within on adopting a child in the state of California. I am a single female beside a stable income and home.

How old must you be to adopt a child?

Can you adopt a child that is unborn? (Such as one from a teen parent who doesn't want to keep the child...)

Are here major restrictions that I should know about?

Not only can't the unborn be adopted, why are teens automatically the resource to get what you want.
If you visualize expectant mothers are just lined up out there by the thousands anxiously wanting to tender their babies away, your wrong.
There are however hundreds of thousands wanting and waiting for newborns while available children sit in foster care getting passed over .
