Adopting someone who is 21?
I my friends (couple) passed away in an accident, they have a 21 yr hoary son whom am very fond of, i want to know if its possible to adopt him, what the process is and how long it is, also, is it compulsory for him to take my name or can he hold his last name, i would appreciate links if possible.

Here are some links. It is not compulsory for him to transport your name, he could keep his own. Keep in mind this could affect things similar to inheritance. But I think it is a great idea, I have hear of stepfathers adopting the adult children of the women they have married to supply the children a father finally, but this is really touching as well.
