Considering adopt child?
Can you choose the ethniciy of a child you want to adopt? Is there any way you can choose a child that looks like yourself or your spouse?
If you're prepared to wait for the child, you can order one up just resembling you would a hamburger from Burger King.
You can definitely "have it your way".
If you have the time and money.
The language of "ordering" a child can prettied up with adjectives the political correctness you want, it' IS still "placing an.order".
But in order to not be accused of giving "cruel answers" or being "too negative", I'll just quote the adoption industry to answer "Can you choose?"
The indusry calls it:
"the process of identify a child"
"pursuing the family selection process"
"the right fit"
"finding the right child"
"determine the kind of child"
"choices of "comfort level"
"Can you choose?"
"..we do specialize contained by providing a child search designed especially for your needs"
"our staff will work with your desires and preferences such as gender, age, condition and skin tone, etc..."
"it is very important that you describe the child you want to adopt"
"tell us roughly your dream child"
"...look for a child of your dreams, ask us to find you one"
"we will work with you to find a child that is right for you"
"the screening process tells us what type of child is desired"
How is that not "placing an.order"?
Answers: I totally follow the draw to have your baby look like you and your spouse. There is an incredible pride to it adjectives. this is my son or daughter. I understand. Yes you can request that the child be your ethnicity. You may also to lessen the time it takes to get a child consider elder children. Also on the up side.. you can tell if the child looks more like people surrounded by your family. Babies change sooo much it's amazing!
But and this is just my little oh hey linger a minute... when and if you ever REALLLLY want a baby. Then it really just wont matter that much to you. It shouldn't. But I think through like I said before. there comes a point within a persons life where they want a tot soo badly. At this point adopting any baby would fashion their dreams come true.
Hope I helped =)
Dont ask here, you'll go and get nasty answers.
You can tell social services you would prefer a child of the same ethnicity as yourself but theres no guarantee you would be matched next to one.
