Did anyone keep watch on the Dr. Phil today?
It's about a 15 year old girl who didn't use protection and got pregnant.'
Parents want her to own an abortion.
Dr. Phil has her "Wear adoption" for a week where she meets a woman who have 5 failed attempts to adopt and then visit the hospital where on earth a mother who plans to relinquish, is giving birth.
She also met 3 women, 1 who placed, 1 who parented and I think 1 who aborted.
What did you think of the show?

NO! nor will I. I haven't watch Phat Phil in ages.he is a major joke, as someone here said...a 'medium whore'. He doesn't give a rat's behind about the folks on his show...other than the ratings they afford him. And I believe him to be a 'hater' of women. He's an a$$hole!!
"And seriously- if she wants to know about how adoption will most potential affect her and her baby, she should go to a CUB meeting or speak to adoptees in a support group."
I first thought this was a good belief - but then I realized he would most likely hammer everyone with the grateful stick and remind them they could have been abort. The whole group might kick the $hit out of him (wait a minute, that could end up working out pretty well).
So-called Dr. Phil is nought more than a carnival barker. Source(s): Telling a scared young women to "wear adoption" is coercive.
Yes, and I was disgusted. No better way than to sell adoption than by have her meet with a woman who has have 5 failed attempts. (And then She FREAKED OUT when the mom decided to hold the little one after delivery)
I really think that he tried to make it seem impossible for her to preserve the baby. Now don't get me wrong, I do think that she be living in a bit of "La La Land" but When he asked her "What is your worst fear?" I got upset. Not that it is not a legal question and it *should* be examined certainly, but just the route he went about it, like her answer made her a "fruitless mom" WE ALL HAVE FEARS, Even with planned pregnancies. EVERYONE says "oh ****, what did I get myself into?" "Am I going to be a biddable parent" "Can I really handle this?" And anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves.
What REALLY got me though, be that he paired her with a PAP "so that she could really understand what adoption is about" YEAH RIGHT! *IF* that was the shield, then she would've been paired with a First Mother and/or An Adoptee because from where on earth SHE is standing, they are the only two parties that are pertinent. The AP should have no immensity with her. However, it was obvious that he be trying to sell adoption and the best way to do that is to duet her with a "deserving poor lil infertile woman"
I didnt see it but I did read some of the things that were in the links you provided and read a transcript of the interview and I am HORRIFIED at the way Dr. Phil treated this girl. HORRIFIED.
Anyone who doesn't believe here is still coercion in modern adoptions needs to sit down and keep watch on this. Dr. Phil was rude, negative, and disrespectful to this young woman. He kept asking her if she "did it on purpose". And next acting like she was lying when she said no, she did not get pregnant premeditated.
I hope someone sees this show and offers this girl the help she requirements to keep her baby.
This young lady has HORRIBLE parents and Dr. Phil should be ashamed of himself. Her HORRIBLE parents should be ashamed of themselves.
The answerer who said that the girl should own been with the natural mother while her child be given to the adoptive parents is half true. I think she should have experienced both... freshly like she should have experienced the viewing of an abortion and a young mother her age.
I don't watch that show, but my thoughts from what you say about it are:
1.) It sounds vastly coercive.
2.) I don't think minors should be allowed to have their lives displayed on reality-based television similar to this at all, because they don't have the ability to make a contribution fully informed consent to the invasion of privacy or the potential long-term consequences of the exposure.
i despise Dr Phil. I think he's exploiting that 15 year old. Can you conjure what she must be thinking!
The show comes on here at 4pm. Thanks for the off-putting though..cause I can't stomach that sort of thing today.or any day. I am sickened adequate by the coercion that exists in adoption already. Now this jerk is making coercion acceptable, and doing it on a national platform. ugh.
It truly breaks my heart that oodles young pregnant girls will be pushed to relinquish now that Dr. Phil has pushed this agenda. Where is the humanity surrounded by separating a tiny little baby from his mother?
No, I am at the workplace.
How are Dr. Phil and her family going to feel when she change her mind? I don't think she really meant it. I think she convinced herself that adoption be best, but I'm not sure she really wanted to do it. I think she tried not to think going on for it so it would be easier.
I think she'll regret it. I could be wrong, though.
The only problem I have with the show is that when she had to "wear adoption" she should have be with the mother who was giving up her child. The 15 year old is not the one that will be within the happy room with her family and friends to come upon her new baby, like the woman she be with. She will be in the other room, alone, and feeling things most of us cannot describe.
I am not against adoption, or abortion, everyone have their choice, I just wish they would have showed the fragment of adoption that she would be going through herself.
I saw it and it comes back on Tuesday. Why would you shame your own daughter on TV like that? I reflect Dr. Phil wants these girls to put their babies up for adoption. They feel forced into it. If they were my daughter she would be have a baby and I would take care of it till she be old enough to do it herself. This is when you prove what a good parent you are!
Nope. Even when I am home to watch it, I can't bring myself to do it. He is a real smug a$$hole who dishes out crap warning to those who really need someone to really listen and help.
Getting rude and unhelpful, even unpleasant answers on Y!A is par for the course. Everyone has their own opinion and we are not really seeking professional advice here. But for those who trust within him and his answers, I feel sorry.
It doesn't come on until 4:00 here. After this I will make sure to watch it.
I usually avoid Dr. Phil because I construe he is nothing more than a ratings seeking media whore. He does not have the best interest if his guests contained by mind, just what they can do fr his ratings!
Answers: First of adjectives, I have to wonder about the fitness of parents who would parade their daughter on national TV like that. What a humiliating experience for the girl! Shame on the parents and shame on Dr. Phil. I am not really sure if he has any shame, though. He is totally about promoting himself which shouldn't be a surprise, but it is obnoxious that he is doing it at the expense of this young woman.
Whether or not she aborts is no one's business. Whether she chooses adoption or not is a Solomon's Choice that no woman should ever have to manufacture. No matter what decision she makes, it is hers and hers alone to do. I don't close to the show because I always feel like a voyeur when I do. I am not so clever as to make decisions for another and even the judges that procure paid to do so make mistakes sometimes. Dr. Phil is not a judge, not a jury, nor a woman, and is not qualified to be paid any decision for anybody, except himself.
No, I work.
I think it is nobodies business but hers as to what she requirements to do. If she wants to get an abortion she should, if you wants to adopt out she should. I have an idea that Dr. Phil is a sensationalized celebrity who has long past his right to be practicing pschiatry or counseling and should stick to walking red carpet with his star struck wife.
i didnt but sounds like it was a polite epasode of something like that
Nope, but Im going to write a letter. Phil is an idiot and populace who love him need a REAL doctor. This show is inexcusable, and I think her parents are insane for allowing her to be on TV.
And seriously- if she wants to know give or take a few how adoption will most likely affect her and her baby, she should go to a CUB talk or talk to adoptees in a support group. Sigh..the media other makes it about the ap's though, don't they? Source(s): Dr Phil is just one partly step above Jerry Springer
