18 year dated adopt twins?
I am eighteen years old. I'm a very hard worker, own had the same boyfriend for a year, and he is completely on board near this. We will be getting married in less than six months. He has a stable assignment, wll be in the Coast Guard in six months and he is completely stable.
Here is my situation:
I am a nanny for two boys. Their mom, my boss, is pregnant with twins. Tomorrow she finds out if they own Down's Syndrome. If they do, she will abort the both of them. I cannot personally deal with this. I offered to adopt the twins, if she would convey them to full term. I love babies wth downs syndrome, I love kids.
Do you think I made the right decision?
I already know I am going through near it. I'm not going to change my mind. I'm just wondering how my friends are going to respond to this.
If your only concern is what your friends conjecture, I think you are far too young and immature to consideration for 2 disabled babies. What was her reaction? I doubt she would go through beside a whole pregnancy to give the babies to you just because you don't believe within abortion.
I don't think you made the right decision, but you still have plenty of time to adaptation your mind. (I don't think it will be up to you soon anyways).
If it is the mother's decision to abort because she does not feel she can parent one or both of her twins have downs syndrome (or really for any other reason) that is HER decision. If you cannot personally do business with that, maybe you should seek employment elsewhere.
This is not your outcome to make. It is hers. Source(s): Surprisingly self actualized adult adoptee
your going to loose your "childhood" so to speak... dont do it, it will be too much work and your soo babyish. Her aborting her kids is something she'll have to deal next to, not you. You have a big heart and Im sure you'll be a great mother some day, just linger for your turn. Your still young, go to school, find out what you want to do near yourself and do something for you... raising babies can wait, dont bring the extra stress (from work) home with you.
if you take on these kids wont that affect your job?? DS children can be a huge handful, and next to them there comes lots of medical bills, emotional stress, long days, longer nights,
I hope you know fully what you are considering!
Good communication is the twins will more then likely be fine and you will just 2 more to be a nanny to!
Good luck!
The judge won't allow you to. It's great that you love babies with downs syndrome. How much time enjoy you spent helping adult victims of downs syndrome? Do you have ANY clue what their needs are? You DO KNOW that they are adults far longer than they are cute little children, right? You do know that oodles Downs adults have health problems and are not like the folks feature at Special Olympics, right?
One of the reasons that 18-21 year olds aren't usually permitted to adopt is because they are unrealistic about what it takes to lift up a child. The kid already doesn't have their parents, so that's already a strike against them. They don't need someone who thinks a 1 year relationship at 18 is 'stable'.
To put it slightly simply.you are too young to adopt legally.
Your views/opinions on abortion are just that.your views/opinions.
This woman will desire for herself, irrespective of your views/opinions on abortion, if she will terminate or continue this pregnancy.
This is NOT your decision to variety for another woman!
Answers: There is no definitive test for downs syndrome within twins
The decision of what to do or not do with her pregnancy is entirely that of the expectant mother. Not you.

While your heart is in the right place there are plenty of things working against you. Your age is a big one. No court contained by the world is going to allow an 18 year old to adopt a child, much less a non-relation. The only path an 18 year old could gain custodity of a child is if it were a case where on earth YOUR parents died and put YOUR younger siblings in your care. To adopt you have to be at minimum mid 20's, living on your own and know how to prove income, background checks, etc.. You would need at minimum $10,000 in income for respectively person living in your home AND for each child that you would bring into it. At 18 I doubt this is the grip. You'd never pass the homestudy in terms of space, income or age.
I know that you grain for the situation and want to do this however, at 18 it isn't going to happen.
You wouldnt be allowed to legally adopt at 18. I would adopt them in adjectives but name (without the legalities) then in a few years apply to adopt them. By later you'd be their mother and a court wouldnt want to take them away from you.
You are going to have a VERY hard time getting the adoption to go through. Even if your intentions are pure, Social services are going to put you through the ringer.
You are beneath 25, and unmarried. Two big no-no's for adoption.
A special needs adoption generally requires that you demonstrate the capacity to afford to lug care of their needs. It will also likely require a Psych exam to determine if you are "Sane" surrounded by your reasons for wanting to adopt a special needs child.
Twins ups the ante even further as twice the kids = twice the cost, emotionally, phyically, and monetarily.
Expect that if you really want to go throug near this you will need to marry your BF before the births, that you and your parends, and your BF will have to Pass a Psych peak, a drug test, and a credit check. You will have to have great answers as to why you are going to not step to college to raise these kids, and how you will afford their special needs.
Best of luck. Just understand even ably intentioned thoughts may be blocked by the truth of reality. Source(s): http://moresymptoms.com/down+syndrome+ad…
You're "not going to change your mind" about what happen to someone else's feti? You "can't deal" with your boss' reproductive decision? I know you work for this woman and feel similar to part of her family, but this is none of your business.
But you obviously come here to be told how wonderful you are, so: You're wonderful for offering to take two children who, were they on the adoption market, would probably hold a line of upper-middle-class people waiting to adopt them, Down's or no, because they are newborns. If your friends don't agree that your eagerness to do this by encouraging your boss to suffer an unwanted pregnancy makes you a saint who loves babies more than any baby-loving person ever born, they are just imply poopyheads.
It's her outcome what she does. Although I would personally go full term and lift the twins if I was in that situation. However it does worry me that you've offered to adopt them if they enjoy Down's Syndrome. You're young, one baby is hard work short taking into account disability but to take on two is a massive responsibility.
One thing you're not taking into explanation is that if the twins do have Downs Syndrome and the mother decides to go full residence she may very well decide to parent. It would be wrong to donate any pressure to her to go full term with the scene of you adopting as she could change her mind.
When my sister was carrying her third child she be wrongfully told her baby would be a Down's Syndrome. It caused her a lot of distress as she have always said she would abort if she was told that her baby would be born With Down's. When she be told this it completely tore her apart as she could feel her baby moving and was bonding near her baby. Before she made a decision what to do she was informed that a mistake have been made and that her baby was hearty. That baby is now 22 years old, much loved and have a job.
You may be a bit immature... but it's better than her aborting them. Just know that you will have your hands full. GL!!
umm this is not true. you are a horrible liar. a baby's autism is not detected until they are usually a year old. shame on you.
First you make $50,000 a year being a nanny I need to renovate jobs. Second with you being 15 week pregnant and you are not sexual alive you have a full life. Your questions lately don't go with each other. I ruminate you are called a troll.
