Adopting a child query?
Out of curiosity... How much does it normally cost to adopt a child.
36 years ago Lutheran Social Service charged a few hundred bucks. My daughters mother told us so. She about fell off her chair when she found out how much adoption cost today.
Depends on what kind of kid you want to adopt?
Female, manly, newborn, toddler, older, white, asian, bi-racial, black, domestic or foreign.
White (blonde, blue-eyed are widely sought after) newborn domestic females are premium.
How much do you have in your sandbank account?
How much credit can you tap?
Sky's the limit!
Answers: It really depends upon a lot of variables.
Our international adoption cost us $800 US but many others can cost upwards of $35-$40 k on the other running out of the spectrum.
Our latest adoption was done through domestic foster care and be 100% free for us but in some areas it can cost around $1000 for the incidental costs that DSS may not cover in a particular nouns.
Domestic adoptions through agencies could cost around $20 k or so...sometimes less, sometimes more depending again on the agency used and the circumstances.
It depends whether you adopt through foster care or a private agency. And if you adopt internationally or in country.
Private agencies and international adoption are more expensive. Adopting through foster care is not fundamentally expensive.
My parents attorney told them roughly 35k on average.
at Lutheran social services the adoptive parents pay 10,000.00 for a child. Nothing like people selling your child to the chief bidder.
edit or atleast it was 4 years ago who knows how much more it's gone up.
