My husband and I are considering adoption?
We have a 14 month old daughter by birth but want to add to our inherited. Can someone talk to me about the challenges and benefits of adopt? Anyone adopted outside of their race? Have you experienced any negative feedback in the region of it? I don't care if we adopt a caucasian, asian, hispanic, african american baby...doesn't matter to me as long as we can contribute a child a good and loving home. Tell me your story please.
Please consider adopting through your local department of social services. There are abundant benefits to adopting through foster care such as:
a. Pre and Post adoption training and support for everyone
b. Minimal expenses (adopting from foster care is virtually free)
c. A much greater arbitrariness at a truly ethical adoption
Good luck to you and your family! Source(s): Former GAL
I'm a Korean adoptee who was raise by a white family. There are a lot of emotional challenge that adoptees go through that no one will tell you just about! Transracial adoptions often cause identity and cultural issues for the adopt person. That and for a lot of other reasons, I myself, as a TRA cannot recommend that.

I would strongly support you to read a lot of TRA and other adoptee blogs before moving too far into your adoption journey. It will be really useful to your adopted child for you to get some kind of perception of what it is really like for them. It can be hard to understand what it is close to if you are not adopted. I looked in to adoption 15 years ago, and found out it be expensive. start saving money, and forget getting an infant unless your rich. Source(s): intuition
Okay first of all, thanks for considering it. I be adopted from China at ten months old. Yes, it is quite expensive, but my parents couldn't enjoy children and it's an amazing experiance. And i would suggest going back for another later. My sister was also adopt. I am 14, and she is 8. No, you may not be able to answer all the questions that they ask, similar to my mother, but it might be stronger than biological babies. My mother and father loved the whole experiance, NO REGRETS
thanks,

Answers: I couldn't agree more with MamaKate and the idea of adopt through foster care. That's how we did it. Got two beautiful girls, maybe another within the future. The youngest is african american and the other is east indian. Couldn't love them more if they were our biological children.
