Just toilet paper, I doubt you would do time, but you could capture in trouble! When people start using eggs, shaving cream and a whole account of other crap, then it becomes a bigger crime. Also if you do ANYTHING to the mail box, to be precise a Federal offense and could get you in real trouble!
first of all, did you get caught? secondly, depending on your relationship with the owner of the house can determine your punishment. if its the cool aunt that you love and adore the probably zilch will happen. if its a random stranger hat you pissed stale then you could get fined or arrested.
I'm sure it's criminal damage. They can press charges for that, but it's unlikely that you'll enjoy to go to jail. Just a record, and possibly a fine.
If the owners file charges on you, you could be arrested for vandalism.

I doubt it on jail. I would be more worried in the region of what my rents would do than the police.
