My sister hate being called "hot". She thinks it's demeaning, and I sympathetic of do as well, but I just can't put my finger on the "why" part of it. It newly feels disrespectful and rude.
I especially find it demeaning when someone says my mom is hot. I showed a picture of my mom -- she passed away when I was younger -- to some friends from the military camp I worked at, and two of them said, "Dude, your mom is hot!" and I found that a bit demeaning and disrespectful. It's rude to say someone is "hot", in my opinion. But, similar to I said, I can't say for sure why I think it's rude. It's usually the tone in which it's said.
I'd probably be more mortified if someone tried making a move on my sister than anything. I'd probably punch the guy out if I found out he tried making a move on my sister, if she didn't beat me to it. Haha.
Lucky for me that doesn't happen. I wouldn't exactly be pissed, just disgusted.

I've never understand why citizens get so angry about it really.
