I'm home alone and really uptight?

My mom got a new job so she leaves around 9pm. My dad doesn't procure home from work until midnight but sometimes he goes to his brother's house after work because they ride to and from work together and sometimes he doesn't get home until 1:30 or 2. I'm really nervous and paranoid roughly speaking something happening. I live on a dead end street beside neighbors we kinda know but it still makes me nervous. What can I do to take my mind stale of it or calm me down?
def make sure the doors are locked when i be scared by myself at home i use to watch a funny movie or listen to my fav songs or clean up a short time like vacuum or wash dishes if there be any to make time go by faster or talk to a friend on the phone or surf the internet I don`t know play some video games
How old are you? Are you behind the times enough to be home alone this late?

I will admit I don't resembling being home alone late at night any. I'm 33 & married. lol

What I do is make sure the room I am in has ample lights on. Then I make sure the kitchen or livingroom has a few lights on too just contained by case if I need to go surrounded by those rooms.

Next make sure you have some music or the tv on. This helps the calm house.

I was sick on July 4th and home alone till almost 11:30pm which is when my husband & kids got home.

I'll also admit I can`t bear sleeping alone when my husband is gone too. Even if the kids are in the house. It's always creepy. I know most married couples feel this agency. (Everybody Loves Raymond a tv show did a show on this where Ray was alone in the house while his wife and kids be gone. He ended up sleeping at his mom's. lol)

So what you are feeling is normal. Source(s): homeschooling mom of 3 - don't close to being alone at night either
Just make sure the doors are locked and put on the outside light if you enjoy one. Call up a friend and talk on the phone for a while.
relax , your Dad will be home soon. Go to bed .

If you stay up consequently watch tv or play some music . Try not to disturb neighbours. The house should be locked up when your mom leaves . Dont mess with weapons, a short time ago have the phone available for 911 if you need them .

Any noise at hours of darkness seems louder, so dont let it spook you.

On a dead expiration there wont be any people passing by except conceivably a neighbor.
keep under surveillance movies, listen to music, read, chat with friends on the computer, try to find a penpal(computer pal...idk that you can chat with when ur parents arent their
Lock all doors and windows and make sure you hold a weapon with you at all times. Therefore, if something does happen you will have a feeling more safer that you are prepared. Maybe putting loud music on, or finding anything else entertaining that would get your mind off of it. Invite a friend over.
they're a moment ago gone for a couple of hours. i have faith that nothing unpromising is going to happen to you. try to go to sleep. watch a movie on tv next to popcorn! mmm :) play some video games. exercise? play on the computer. go to websites like dressupgames.com wikihow.com or watch video on youtube. paint your nails, dance to your fav music, prank call! ahaha. experiment beside make up, mix and match your clothes.

. turn on all the lights [every single one,]
1. BLAST some music and start dancing and singing along
2. watch a movie, a honourable one that you've never seen so you know you're attention will be focused on the screen.
3. start answering yahoo!answers [if that made any sense... but you know what i mean...]
4, product some FOOOD
5. chat on msn

have fun :)
view TV, a movie, or play video games!
Watch a tv show or a movie that makes you laugh. Maybe go to bed so that you don't dream up about it? Just do fun things to keep your mind off of things. I am sure everything will be alright.
i am 15 and i stay home alone alot and now I am used to it but I do get freaked out at dark. Get something to distract you, computer, tv, movie. keep the phone near you if anything happens. if you dont already, attain a dog.
Just be paid sure all the doors are locked. Turn on all the lights in the house. Keep a phone practical by. Watch TV or listen to music to take your mind off being alone. I dislike intensely being alone too.
Does your father have a cell phone?

You need to talk to your parents and explain to them that being alone in the house makes you anxious.

Tell your Dad that it would be best for him to come right home after work, so you grain safe.

You could always tell him that in attendance is an 18 year old boy at school who says he'll come and comfort you, and stay near you until your Dad comes home! lol
since it's summer, try staying at friends house as much as possible. of course this can't always be done, so basically make sure all the doors, windows, ect. are locked and you'll be fine. (:
Some polite news is that there is nothing to dismay because you are in a safe, secure house and you are living on a departed end street. I don't know your area, but if it's a relatively nice, safe nouns, you will be fine, just make sure all the doors are locked, window closed, etc.
If you have some video games or music, you could use those to entertain you and help you unwind =)
As long if crime doesn't become a problem, your fine.

I lived contained by a dead end street in Las Vegas (suburb), when I be let's see... 16. If your that worried... talk too your parents.
Answers:    i can relate to u. my parents own a restaurant and sometimes both of them stay till closing (which is midnight) im an only child so it just me and my two dogs at home.(and one is a short time yippy terrier who cant do anything). anyways it freaks me out! but here is what i do to calm down.i watch TV, play on my computer, listen to music...but at the same time i do keep hold of in mind i am alone...so i make sure doors are locked and lights are on to give the general idea "people are here". eventually u will get used to it. just snuggle beside your dogs lock doors and have lights on. u will be fine! also keeping a baseball bat nearby may help. i hold one under my bed : ) Source(s): its happened to me.

let time pass you'll get used to it
Go online and start discussion to people. Trust me that makes the time fly by. Go do something you really like.or examine your favorite comedy movie. Try and go to bed and think about stuff you really want or something.
Eh, just lock the doors and stuff, next sit and watch TV or distract yourself with stuff on the computer. The best way to achieve rid of fear is to not think about it. You'll forget it after for a moment while. And, if you choose to stay on the computer, at least turn a radio on or a few TV's on to make it less stifled.
The chances of something happening are VERY low. Trust me.

Also closing the curtains always help me. I always feel like when I tramp by a window or something, somethings just going to pop out at me lol, so I have to close the curtains.
