I am going to entitle my daughter Horat but I am afraid that population will cause fun of her mark?
My daughter is due next month and me and my wife had agreed to name her Horat. It is supposed to be pronounced (Hor rut) but I don`t know other people might look at it as (wh.ore rat). When you first read the name, how did you think it be pronounced? And do you think it is a good name for a girl?
This really isn't a good choice surrounded by my opinion. I thought it was whore rat. If I saw that on a piece of paper, I definately wouldn't hold thought it was a person's name. If you already know it will give her trouble, later why would you put her through that? If you have sentamental reasons for naming her Horat, then please use it for her middle moniker. I think she will thank you later. CONGRATS on the baby!!

later in go ur daughter will eventually apply for college or a job and she needs a name that will earn her respect.
for ur daughter,u should alteration her name. it doesnt have to be a common mark, but find a beautiful name that is individual but not a name kids will make fun of? good luck and congrats on the little one girl!!

I dont consider that would be a good choice. I pronounced it at first as wh.ore rat..which would equal teasing in middle college. Then I thought about the name and it reminded me of Borat and then hood rat which routine sl.ut or something. And its just not really feminine. I mean, its different, but it seems more approaching a surname or something, not something you would give to a girl.

I really don't suppose that Horat would be a very feminine name for your daughter.
Espeically when she is going through middle/high school.
I would consider shifting it.

I tend to be optimistic on unusual name if they have cool meanings, but I could not find this one online anywhere. I also don't think its a totally distinctively female name which makes it even worse for role ring, attendance, etc. as she grows up. Maybe try some similar but more neutral names. Harrah maybe? or in truth spell it Herut which means freedom in Hebrew http://www.behindthename.com/php/view.ph… I would definately at least try to play next to the spelling to make it more obvious how to say it. apt luck.
