you can but i wouldn't do it profusely of people don't really want to get baby sitters stale of Craig's list because of the scandals and crap and then within is the fact that most people email you from other countries with insincere scams and stuff i would try to go through friends and stuff because i personally would never look for a child sitter on craigslist

Answers: I wouldn't do it. You don't really know who is answering. And, if you ever do, I would take precautions. Make sure you meet with the population for the first time (interview) as well as the kids in a public place, and preferably take your parent(s) beside you.
I answered an ad in the local paper when I be 19, and did something similar - I went to their house to meet with the ethnic group, but asked to bring my mom with me. If you don't know the people, never meet them on your own :)
